Buddhist Hell Paintings. (Monster Brains)Damn, there were a couple of huge ones in our local museum when I was a kid.
Bloody amazing.
Me and my brothers used to be fascinated by those, you could spot something different in them every time.
So much (gory) detail!
Rather sadly, they took them down from display sometime in the 80s, for fear they would upset people of a sensitive disposition (Boooo….)
They also took away all the Spanish Inquisition stuff they had like torture chairs, and all their shrunken heads as well, and also I think, a mummified baby or two.
That was their best stuff!
Spoilsports… :-(
